Knocking On Heaven's Door Home, Refuge, Sanctuary

The juxtaposition of doors.
Closed-Sanctuary. Protected. Home. Respite. The unknown lure of what’s behind?
Opened-Welcome. Come in. A warm hearth awaiting. Entering into what?
Truth is left to the perception of the beholder.

The Knocking on Heaven’s Door Series is created by combining the ancient art of painting with beeswax called Encaustic with the Door Series photography of Arturo Torres arturotorresphotography.com. Each work is mounted on 100-year weathered-patina barn wood and certified an original photo-encaustic assemblage by Shima Shanti.

Home

There are 6 selections to choose from. Each artwork is two 5″x7″ and 2.5″ x 7″ artworks assembled together and mounted on vintage wood. The nature of beeswax and blend of pigments make it impossible to predict the creative outcome – and while similar – no two artworks are alike. Door images, colors and texture and weathered-patina of the vintage wood will vary.

Refuge

Two encaustic artworks size 5″x7″ are created then joined together for their synergy of color and texture. The nature of beeswax and blend of pigments make it impossible to predict the creative outcome – and while similar – no two artworks are alike. Door images, heart designs, color and texture will vary.

Sanctuary
